Tulkarem`s Electricity Supply Increased

As part of the ongoing effort to connect and improve the supply of electricity in Palestinian villages and towns in the West Bank, this week Tulkarem`s supply of electrical power was increased. The summer is known for a higher than average demand for electricity for a variety of reasons: air conditioning, children spend more time at home, etc.

In recent weeks, Tulkarem experienced blackouts due to the city's high demand for power, for hospitals, clinics, businesses, factories, and homes, especially during Ramadan, when families spend most of the day indoors.

After recognizing the problem and understanding the impact of blackouts, and after attempts to reduce demand did not yield results, the Electricity officer in the Civil Administration and the Israel Electric Corporation decided to increase the city's supply.

The work was completed this week and Tulkarem's supply grew by 70 amperes, which will help meet the town's demand.
