Curriculum Vitae
Itzik was born in the northern town of Atlit; shortly afterwards his family moved to Givat Shmuel. He attended a nearby elementary school; however, during his high school years he worked during the day and studied in the evenings. In February 1964, he joined the IDF Artillery Corps. He married Rivka short before his discharge from the army, and as a newly discharged soldier worked a metalworker in a garage. Around that time, he was recruited into the career army and moved with his wife to Beersheva, where they raised a family of five children. Itzik aspired to advance in the military ranks and was selected for OTC. He loved the army and invested a tremendous amount of time and energy in his work, was promoted repeatedly and resigned from the army with the rank of colonel. Itzik purchased a house in Gan Yavne, where the family resided until tragedy struck and his wife Rivka was killed in a car accident. About a year later he began working in the Civil Authority in Gaza in the offices of the Israel Tax Authority, where he met Lily. They were married in 1991 and had a child. Itzik was a joyful man who especially loved Greek folk music and dance. On August 2, 1993 Itzik was killed in a terrorist attack in the Gaza Strip.
