There is extensive involvement of the international community in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. Its support is expressed in three primary domains – budgetary support for the Palestinian Authority, assistance in constructing and enhancing governance capabilities in Judea and Samaria, and promoting humanitarian and infrastructural projects in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip.
Over two hundred international organizations, among them UN agencies, government aid agencies and NGO's, operate in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. These organizations play a central role in maintaining and promoting the Palestinian population’s fabric of life.
The projects funded by the international community and executed in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip enable the development of infrastructures.
The COGAT coordination and liaison unit, working vis-a-vis international organizations, is in charge of maintaining and strengthening the relationship with members of the international community operating in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip, during routine periods and during crises; promoting internationally funded projects; and identifying the state of mind and the trends among the members of the international community.
