The spokesman of the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories announced today that Israel and the United Nations have reached an agreement concerning the transfer of equipment that arrived on the illegal flotilla over two weeks ago.
Date: 15.06.10

Acting on behalf of the UN, the Secretary General's envoy Robert Serry informed the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories Major General Eitan Dangot, that the UN would assume responsibility for transfer of the equipment into the Gaza Strip and for its utilization within the framework of the humanitarian activities and needs carried out by the UN and its agencies.

The process of insertion of the equipment, including medicine, food, clothing etc., will be determined by representatives from the Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories and the UN. It should be mentioned and emphasized that before the flotilla's arrival, Israel officially offered to both Turkey and to the UN to transport the equipment to Ashdod while pledging that Israel would coordinate its arrival in the Gaza Strip.
